Ted Stanger, journalist and writer American journalist
Stanger
lives in Paris now, but he grew up in Ohio and after finishing his high school
degree there spent four years at Princeton University where he earned a BA in
English literature.
He began as a reporter for United Press International's
Paris bureau and then worked for
the Miami Herald, a Florida daily newspaper.
As of 1981, he became bureau chief for Newsweek magazine serving in four
locations: Bonn, Rome, Jerusalem and finally Paris.
His first book in
French, Sacrés Français !, became a bestseller in 2003, staying on the
charts for four months. He followed this up with three more bestsellers, Sacrés
Américains !, Sacrés Français le roman ! (a novel) and Sacrés fonctionnaires
! All have been published by Editions Michalon with paperback editions by
Folio.
He appears frequently on French media, mainly to discuss French
and American issues.
He is married and has two children.
